My Musical Roots
It was not until the summer of 1987 that Earl La Pierre Jr., now known as ESP (Extraordinary Steel Pannist), came onto the scene. He started playing steel pan with Afropan Steelband. Four years later, in 1991, he started playing as a soloist. Within 10 years, Earl has developed into one of Toronto’s premiere steel pannists.
My Creative Process
Over the years, Earl has travelled frequently to perform worldwide. Not only has he dedicated his efforts to sharing the Steelpan instrument with the world, heis also an advocate for international collaborations, as well as celebrating Soca music and the Caribbean culture. He has taken his craft to several Caribbean Islands, Asia, Canada, America, Dubai and Africa to partake in Carnivals and Festivals.
He also produces some very popular Steelpan concerts like Snowflakes on Steel 25+ years and Sons of Steel 10+ in Toronto Canada. His latest incentive is an all Steelpan Radio station called Steelpan Music Radio, “where steelpan music matters!”
My Live Performances
Earl performs as a “One Man Band” available for bookings for all occasions and settings. PanManOnDuty has a unique sound, mixing all genes of music from around the world
